Offloading Your Yacht

We at S3 are qualified to ship and unship your yacht for commissioning or decommissioning. As an authorized service center for Grand Banks Yachts, we're also certified to work on your commissioning checklist once we offload your Grand Banks. Here's a break down of the process:

Ships carrying yachts ordered by customers arrive in the Tacoma and Seattle ports from locations around the world, like Malaysia. These ships are oftentimes 1300' long.

Our crew is TWIC certified, which means we have the proper credentials for entering the port and boarding the ship to prep the yacht for offloading.

The yachts typically arrive shrink-wrapped in plastic, placed in cradles aboard the ship. Our crew is hired by the dealer, like Grand Banks, or the customer and once onboard we cut them out of the plastic and prep the boat for water by testing the batteries, pumps, through-hulls, and other systems. Then, the port uses a crane to pick up the boat and lower it off the ship into the water.

We put a crew onboard and fire up the systems for probably the 2nd time in the boat's life. After we fuel up the yacht, we drive it from whichever port to wherever it needs to go- usually our shop.

Then, it's up to you when the journey ends.

We're hired by Grand Banks to perform a commissioning checklist and deliver your new vessel to you, but if you want, we can easily work on completing your dream list while your new yacht is still at our shop. We commonly install electronics, dingy mounts, and all types of customizations for yacht owners who entrust us with helping bring their dreams to fruition; we'd love to do the same for you.
